Your art project was in true stewardship to environmental concerns and reminded me of a John Denver song ...

The Earth is our mother just turning around
With her trees in the forest and roots underground
Our father above us who’s sigh is the wind
Paint us a rainbow without any end

As the river runs freely the mountain does rise
Let me touch with my fingers and see with my eyes
In the hearts of the children a pure love still roams
Like a bright star in heaven that lights our way home
Like the flower that shattered the stone ...

Sparrows find freedom beholding the sun
In the engine and beauty we're all joined in one
I reach out before me and look to the sky
Then I hear someone whisper its something pass by

As the river runs freely the mountain does rise
Let me touch with my fingers and see with my eyes
In the hearts of the children a pure love still roams
Like a bright star in heaven that lights our way home
Like the flower that shattered the stone ....

I though this piece was really interesting. It plays with some mighty topics and I'm not sure it addressed these issues quite enough. I guess I wanted more from this. It was like watching a political cartoon in that the viewer had to fill in the blanks.

Very witty. I found myself thinking of, indeed, my own little narratives like the artists suggests. These short seemingly innocent clips seem to fill endless hours of dialogue.

I have to say that I went back to this video three times in the day before I started to understand what was going on. The anxiety I felt initially soon turned into an almost meditative mood. Really an interesting video.

Wow this video was great. I think that Karie's editing was really key for her message. I felt like this project could have looped and I would still have been just as interested fifteen minutes later. It was graphic and the message was loud and clear.

Heather's work is so great to view because there are so many interacting layers within each piece. I think that this works for her because anyone can approach her videos or her 2D work and take a meaningful message away. It takes a lot of skill and thought to produce such a wonderful body of work.

I was really struck with the process in which the video was made. It is really remarkable. I think that what makes it really great was that the precision was not sacrificed for making the video more quickly. It is one of those projects that didnt scrimp on the details. Really enjoyable!

I do not have a the patience this person must have. I would have given up long before I created anything this well done. I appreciate the complexity of the narratives. I think that stop-motion is so cool, it seems to be going the way of polaroid and holga, only for those who care.

I couldn't believe this was all from one speech! Let alone the most watched speech and one of the most important speeches a president makes, one would think that he would be more prepared for something so important. This was very humorous to watch!

this is quite intriguing to my own personal work. i've been dealing with capturing imagery that is forced out of focus, however I still haven't figured out why. it's always interesting to find out that someone is dealing with the same kind of concept even if the underlining meaning is different.....a very successful and thought worthy video!

Heather you have this ability to be so subtle in the execution of your art, but at the same time you are ever so blunt, and I love it! And what I enjoy even more, is that your personality is the same; your art is a reflection of your personality to a "T"

I really enjoy the "laboratory" environment she created, gives the piece a sterile, experimental feel. The nature world doesn't suit our needs but a plastic fake world is much more excepted by people? Does this make any sense? Are we that far removed from the very world we live on? Karie is getting to this very idea, good job Karie!

My favorite part is when the final chair being fought over and the chair has no back or seat. I also found myself getting vaguely uncomfortable watching this video and the adults acting like every vicious children. When they were wrestling over a chair I felt like someone should jump in and break them up saying things like "you could put out someone's eye." I think I might secretly be an 80 year old.
